Location

The George Meany Memorial Archives is located at 10000 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland. By car, take the Washington Beltway (U.S. 495) to exit 28A. Travel north on New Hampshire Avenue and turn left at the traffic light for Powder Mill Road. There is ample parking space (please sign in at the front desk of the Kirkland Center to receive a parking hang tag). From the Fort Totten Metro station, transfer to the K6 Metrobus; from the Silver Spring Metro station, transfer to the 20 or 22 Ride On bus; from the College Park Metro station, transfer to the C8 Metrobus. Disembark at Powder Mill Road.

Hours of Operation

Research is by appointment Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; closed for lunch, generally 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Hours are subject to change without notice. [TOP]

Closings and Delays

For the 2008 calendar year, the archives will be closed on January 1 and 21, February 18, March 21, May 26, July 4, September 1, October 13, November 11, 27, and 28, and December 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, and 31.
