This page contains FAQ regarding the login process, including password issues.

How do I get to the NLC Blackboard system?

The Internet address for GMC-NLC Blackboard is http://nlc.blackboard.com. Type this address (URL) into your browser's address line.  Note that there is no "www" in the address.  To prevent typing the address again, use your browser's bookmark or favorite feature to store the Internet address.

How do I get a Blackboard username and password?

A username and password are issued after you register for a National Labor College course. It will be sent to you prior to the course start date. Please provide an e-mail address when you register so that you may be contacted regarding your Blackboard username and password.

Can I look at a Blackboard course without a username and password?

Some instructors permit guests to preview their course materials. Click the Preview button on the login screen.  Then Click the Courses tab.  Click Browse Course Catalog to display a list of courses.  You may view material in any course with a Preview button.

If you have used NLC Blackboard before ...

You may use the same username and password that you used for a previous class.

If you forgot your password ...

Click on the “Forgot your Password?” link on the login screen. Blackboard will immediately send an e-mail to the address for your account. The e-mail will contain a link that will allow you to create a new password.

If your password doesn’t work ...

The password is case-sensitive, so make sure you use the correct combination of upper-and-lower case letters.  Also, be sure to distinguish the letter “O” from the number “0” and the lower case letter “L” from the number “1” (one).

If you want to change your password ...

From the Tools section of the My Blackboard tab, click on “Personal Information”.  Click “Change Password” to create a new password.

If you use a community workstation ...

Be sure to logout and close the browser when you are finished using Blackboard. Otherwise the next user of the workstation could access your Blackboard page and modify your settings. The Logout button is at the top of each Blackboard screen.
