What is the function of the different areas on the My Blackboard tab?

• My Announcements - This area displays announcements from all of your courses and organizations. Announcements are shown for the current date. To view all of your announcements, click "more ..."
• My Courses -This area displays links to courses in which you are enrolled.
• My Organizations -This area displays links to organizations in which you are a member.
• My Calendar -This area displays calendar events for the day.
• Tools -This area is in a block on the left side of the My Blackboard area and contains several tools:
  • Calendar
  • Tasks
  • My Grades
  • Send E-mail
  • User Directory
  • Address Book
  • Personal Information

What is the Personal Information in Blackboard?

Select Personal Information to perform the following tasks:

• Edit Personal Information - such as name, address, e-mail address and phone numbers
• Change Password - you may change the password that was originally assigned to you
• Set CD-ROM Drive - designate the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive; this is useful if the course contains material on CD-ROM
• Set Privacy Options - set which items of your personal information are available to others in the User Directory
  

Can I change the appearance of the My Blackboard tab?

Yes you can customize your My Blackboard tab.  Locate the "Content" and "Colors" buttons near the top right of the My Blackboard area.  Click "Colors" to change the colors of the modules and banner text.  Select "Content" to select content modules such as news, stocks, horoscopes, and weather. You can also edit, minimize, remove and arrange modules in the My Blackboard area.
