This Valentine’s Day, we asked faculty, staff, and administration at National Labor College to share with us what they love about NLC. Here are just a few of the outstanding women and men who work every day to carry out NLC’s mission.
“I love NLC’s mature student population who are self-expressed and bold leaders.” -Steve Krone, Director of the Construction Management degree program.
“There is an old proverb that says ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ What I love about NLC is its mission to elevate and empower the working people of America through education, thereby providing them with a lifetime supply of nourishment and wealth.” -Freddie Thomas, Program Coordinator of the Health and Safety Department.
“I love NLC because activists can learn skills in our courses to better support their union brothers and sisters and build the labor movement.” -Jean Dearden, Director of the Bonnie Ladin Union Skills Program.
“I love NLC because we care about our students, their education, and their future.” -Dominique Johnson, Academic Advisor.
“I love NLC because I get to work with an exciting, dynamic, and passionate group of people who love what they do.” -Daniel Katz, Dean of the School of Labor Studies and Interim Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
“I love NLC’s sense of social responsibility and that we help workers achieve their dreams.” –Tim Merritt, Senior Accountant.
“I love NLC because of my amazing co-workers.” -Laura Barrantes, Executive Assistant to the President.
