The National Labor College is an upper-level degree completion program. The college accepts up to 90 transfer credits towards a Bachelor of Arts degree. Transfer credit may include credits for life experience, selected apprenticeships, union skills courses, military service, and previously earned college credit. A student is not fully matriculated into the program, and cannot receive financial aid, until they have earned or transferred in 56 credits.

Prior Learning Assessment
The NLC’s offers students the opportunity to earn up to 30 credits through a portfolio development process called Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).The PLA Workshop is a noncredit, online seminar, designed to help students develop the PLA portfolio that can be assessed for credit. Students who enter a degree program with fewer than 90 transfer credits, are eligible to participate in PLA portfolio development. Likewise, prospective degree students with fewer than 56 credits may take part in the program to earn credits necessary for admission.
