NLC Event: Prof. Bethany Moreton Book Signing

Upcoming Book Signing Event:

When: February 9, Tuesday evening, 7:00--8:30 pm

Where: National Labor College

The National Labor College will host Prof. Bethany Moreton, University of Georgia, Athens, to discuss and sign her new book To Serve God & Wal-Mart: The Making of Christian Free Enterprise (Harvard University Press, 2009) for an evening discussion and book signing.

The book explores the complex role of grass roots and top-down Sunbelt evangelical culture in the making of the Wal-Mart retail empire. Prof. Moreton’s analysis and insights into the complex inner workings of Wal-Mart will be of particular interest to labor and other social justice activists seeking to organize the South.
