I never felt like I was on my own. Regular webcasts make me feel connected with other students and my professors. It has been a great experience to learn from people across the country. I’ve encouraged younger workers to attend the NLC,” says Walter.

Work Full Time and Finish Your Degree
Though Walter, of Sicklerville, NJ, has enjoyed steady work with good pay and benefits, he also realizes that education translates into greater job security.

I think it’s worth making the time and commitment to get a degree. Online learning makes it possible to work full-time and to finish a degree.

“A lot of union members, particularly activists, are used to juggling their time, so I think we’re uniquely qualified to handle online classes,” says Walter. “I’m not a procrastinator and I would bet that most union members aren’t either. We go after what we want. The National Labor College and Union Plus scholarships are a great help and support to union members who want to finish their degrees.”

Student Receive Support to Achieve Dreams
From counselors who help prospective students determine their credit hours and eligibility to faculty who are dedicated to helping students succeed, Walter found that the NLC is dedicated to helping union members achieve their educational dreams. In addition, students get support from their fellow students.

Scholarships for the Fall semester are available to help your dreams of completing a degree come true, make sure you apply by August 6th to qualify for federal financial aid and scholarships.
