Linda Chavez-Thompson talks with workers before a rally. UNITE had successfully organized three Mission Linen laundries in Tucson, Flagstaff, and Albuquerque. Because the laundry was refusing to bargain with the union, the workers held a rally at the Albuquerque laundry on June 28, 2002. The workers were joined by Linda Chavez-Thompson, National Vice President of the AFL-CIO, who was in Albuquerque that day for a NM Federation of Labor COPE convention.
